"Were it not for their treatment I received, I would give the Brian Stein State farm office five stars. However, after having set up an policy and paying a year's worth of premium in advance, something interesting happened. I was given a refund and told by State Farm that my policy was voided for two reasons; my credit score was low and there was an issue with deterioration on a 4x2 panel of roofing over my front porch. The issue with the credit seems ludicrous because I paid for a year in advance. Regardless of my credit, I was clearly a very good customer from a financial standpoint. In regards to the roof, the policy was for a house I just purchased. I had barely had time to get my belongings in it, let alone review the status of things that might need repair. State Farm did not give me a warning or a timeline to fix the repair. They simply dropped the policy. Not only is it a bad business practice, but will certainly not induce recommendations of State Farm given the treatment I received. Again, I had no issue with Brian Stein or any of his staff. But one must consider the treatment by the company and not just the broker representatives."
